Winter Vacation Extended

Amid the cold wave conditions in North India, various districts in Uttar Pradesh have extended the winter vacations for school students up to Class 8. Check the comprehensive list of UP districts where the schools till class 8 are closed.

The Delhi Directorate of Education (DoE) Wednesday directed all schools to conduct hybrid classes for students up to Class 9 and that of Class 11 after curbs under stage four of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) were invoked in the city amid a sharp dip in air quality.

From January 15, schools in Meerut, Mathura, Kanpur, Agra, Varanasi, Kanpur, Prayagraj, Amethi, Barabanki, Gorakhpur, and Ballia were open for all classes.

For Moradabad and Rampur, the school timings for Classes 9 to 12 have been revised, with classes from 10 am to 3 pm.

Meanwhile, in Ghaziabad, the district magistrate Indra Vikram Singh notified the extension of winter vacations for classes 1 to 8. The schools will be closed for students until January 18.

Telangana school holidays

The Telangana Board of Intermediate Education (BIE) has announced a school holiday for all intermediate colleges nationwide to celebrate Makar Sankranti. The holidays have commenced on January 11 and continue through January 16. Classes will resume on Friday, January 17.

Jammu and Kashmir school holidays

The School Education Department in Jammu and Kashmir has announced the following winter holiday schedule. The announcement was officially shared on the microblogging site X by Sakina ltoo, the Minister of School Education.

– Schools up to Class 5: Closed from December 10, 2024, to February 28, 2025.

– Schools for Classes 6 to 12: Closed from December 16, 2024, to February 28, 2025.

Students are advised to stay in touch with their respective schools for information regarding the holiday schedule.
